Isaiah 43:1-2
But now, this is what the LORD says- he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
I love this scripture b/c it's filled with God's promises for us. It still blows my mind that He has picked ME. He picked me before I ever chose him. Like Beth said in the video- He is actively persuing each of us.
There's a Marine Corps recruiting slogan that states "We didn't promise you a rose garden" and like the Corps, God hasn't either. He tells us in this scripture that we will go though tough waters and rivers; we will have to walk through the fire and tough times of trial and tribulation. BUT, He says that He will be with us, that we will not be damaged or lost in the process, that we WILL PERSEVERE- we WILL make it THROUGH these trails. He will make sure of it. Put your trust in Him and you won't disappointed.
